People searching for a concierge doctor in Bethesda are usually looking for more time, easier access, and a physician who knows them well. Anchor Point adds another layer: a structured, proactive care plan for the year rather than a relationship built only around easier access when something comes up.
Why keep the practice small?
I founded Anchor Point Medicine as a membership-based concierge practice in Bethesda, Maryland, because I believe good care starts with knowing the person in front of me.
My experience as a White House physician and a Navy commander shaped the way I think about that relationship. I want time for unhurried conversations, direct access when something changes, and the opportunity to pay attention to your health throughout the year.
“I want to be there before you need care.”
That’s why I cap my practice at 250 members. Keeping it small makes room for the kind of personal, ongoing care I want to provide.
What does a year plan look like?
You’ll hear from me personally every month, even when you’re healthy. I don’t want our relationship to begin and end with a visit when something is wrong.
We start with a comprehensive health review: your medical history, current concerns, preventive priorities and goals. From there, I put together a plan we can return to throughout the year.
- Health plan within 48h. After a complete review, you’ll have priorities and next steps.
- Check-ins every month. We stay connected, including when you’re feeling well.
- Six-month reviews. We revisit progress, results and priorities to adjust as needed.
Between those checkpoints, I keep an eye on results, medications, referrals and preventive care. My goal is to understand your medical history, your household and what matters to you, so we can make thoughtful decisions together.
How would you reach me?
When you have a concern, you can call or text me directly. You shouldn’t have to start from the beginning with someone who doesn’t know your history.
I offer same-day or next-day visits for illness and injury, along with telehealth consultations and house calls when needed. We can decide together how best to address what’s happening.
“You’ll hear from me personally every month, even when you’re healthy.”
My practice brings primary care and urgent-care capabilities together. I can help with prevention, chronic disease management, travel medicine questions and coordination with the wider healthcare system.
For example, there are concerns I can evaluate and treat right in the office, including:
- Stitches (laceration repair)
- Bedside ultrasound
- EKGs
- RX Orders
- Blood levels
- Joint injections
When specialist care is the right next step, I help navigate referrals and follow-up. You can explore the full scope of my services, including how my care for children complements their pediatrician’s routine preventive care.
How do membership and insurance fit together?
I provide included membership visits directly, without billing them to insurance. But membership is not a replacement for health insurance.
You still need coverage for specialists, hospital care, imaging, prescriptions and other services outside the membership. I do not currently accept Medicare or TRICARE beneficiaries for membership.
On our call, we can talk through the membership options and pricing, what’s included, and what remains outside the practice. You can also read the frequently asked questions beforehand. I want those details to be clear before you make a decision.
Concierge care, structured differently
A proactive relationship.
People often use “concierge medicine” to describe having more time with a doctor and a direct way to reach them. That’s part of what I offer. At Anchor Point, I’ve also built the membership around included primary care visits, a deliberately small practice and personal contact every month.
Concierge practices vary. The comparison below describes an insurance-billing concierge model you may encounter; it doesn’t describe every practice. It’s a starting point for the questions I’d encourage you to ask.
On smaller screens, scroll across to compare both approaches.
| Compare: | Insurance-billed Concierge | The Anchor Point Difference |
|---|---|---|
| Membership | A membership fee may support enhanced access, longer visits or other benefits. | Membership includes routine Anchor Point primary care visits and direct access to me. |
| Insurance | Clinical visits may be billed to insurance in addition to the membership fee. | I don’t bill insurance for included membership visits. |
| Copays | Copays or deductibles may apply when visits are billed to insurance. | No insurance copays for included Anchor Point visits. Outside services remain separate. |
| Annual Plan | The review and planning process varies by practice. | A comprehensive health review and a written, personalized health plan within 48 hours. |
| Ongoing contact | Scheduled check-ins and follow-up arrangements vary by practice. | A personal check-in from me every month, a planned six-month review and additional care as needed. |
| Practice size | Patient panel size varies by practice. | I cap my practice at 250 members to make room for ongoing, personal care. |
| Illness, injury and procedures | Same-day access, procedures and in-office testing vary by practice. | Same-day or next-day visits, with in-office capabilities including stitches, ultrasound, EKGs and joint injections when appropriate. |
| Children | Age limits and pediatric services vary by practice. | I provide acute illness and injury care, sports physicals, medical guidance and family coordination. Routine pediatric prevention stays with your child’s pediatrician. |
With either model, you still need health insurance for care outside the membership. On our call, we can talk through what’s included, what isn’t, and how that fits your household.
How do we decide whether this is a good fit?
I care for individuals and families in Bethesda, Chevy Chase, Potomac, North Bethesda, Kensington, and Rockville. The practical details matter, but so does whether you feel comfortable talking with me. An introductory call gives us a chance to discuss both.
Before we finish, I’d want to leave time for your questions:
- Does this approach match the kind of relationship you want with your doctor?
- Are there particular health needs or family considerations you’d like to discuss?
- What would you need to know before deciding about membership?
You don’t need to have all the answers before we talk. Start with what matters most to you, and we’ll go from there.
